Hello fellow guildees! In an effort to improve our rading success, I would like to start this thread to get some suggestions from everyone regarding our progress thus far. Here are my thoughts/suggestions (any feedback would be great!): Plan on being ready to kick off the instance at whatever time is scheduled. (Which is usally at 8pm these days with hopefully a move to get started a little bit earlier). Too often are we starting the instance without guildees at 8:30pm, and sometimes 9:00pm. I am sure you all are getting tired of the same bosses... If we start on time (and even a bit earlier) we should be able to get more done.Download the KLH Threatmeter add-on. The more of us that have it, the better it works. During a boss battle, keep an eye out where you stand in terms of threat. If youre a squishy and youre at the top of the list, stop casting or have some other aggro-wipe ability ready such as Feign Death or Blessing of Protection. On the aggro topic... please be sure to let the tanks get enough aggro to hold the bosses. There are certain cases where a knockdown will wipe aggro from the tank. In those cases let them get aggro back before pounding them. Also of worthy note to remember... a taunt does not generate threat. It is an instant cast that focuses the mob on the tank, they still have to generate threat afterwards.Potions... potions... potions.. I would like to start collecting mats to create potions for our guild to use on raids. To do that, we need to have some folks willing to farm some mats for us. We can start with the basics such as health and mana potions and proceed to making the major counterparts as well as flasks. Thoughts? If everyone likes this idea, then I will post a list of mats we need shortly. Guild bank - I think we should start putting together a guild bank to start collecting mats and other items that should be stored. Thoughts? Anyway... additional suggestions to come.... -Mahnalor

All great points Jose! I have just a few points to add: 1. As im sure Jose will back me up on this as we seem to be Tanks#1 and 2 in most of our raids, the more raiding we do and the better gear we get, the better chance we have off holding agro. I know its an overused saying but the better the gear the better the tank. 2. As far as our recruiting is going i have an issue, everytime I log in guild chat is full of new faces, yet come raiding time i see none of these faces with the exception of a few. What is the purpose of our recruiting if not to bolster our Raid numbers and make us a better 20+ man raid guild. I know im not the only one who doesnt want a massive guild with 90% of us being complete strangers. Anyhow just a few thoughts imho.

Sorry one more point Lets try to schedule some AQ20's here and there to keep things fresh. 2 weeks a month of AQ20 and 2 of ZG would be a good mix. Or 1 each a week would be ideal.

Great points Tigger. I think it is everyone's responsibility to recruit members into the guild. Usually, what I do when I log in is hit my macro that post a recruitment message in the Guild Recruitment channel. You never know who is watching those posts... Eventually, we will start building up more and more... it's just a matter of time
In regards to AQ20. Agreed. I think if we tailor it to 2 weeks ZG and then 1 week AQ for now we should be ok. We can also keep in mind the reset schedule since it will definitely require more time to do AQ20 as opposed to ZG. AQ20 is quite a bit harder and we still need to upgrade our gear to make it a little easier for us. Things that would help are pots (see post above on herb donations) and enchants. Everyone should make sure they have all of their gear enchanted to bolster their stats. With that in mind, we should make sure to send the green items and blue bop's to be DE'd and sent to our bank. (The bank should be set up in the next couple of days.) Please send items to be DE'd to Fionaa unless we change to another toon. When Fionaa DE's the items, she will send them to our Mats bank for future enchants.

Alot of good stuff here, but a basic one is missing. In order to have visibility to these issues, as well as others in the future and to have an active and lively guild, ppl actually need to check these boards. Its an issue in every guild, how active ppl are on the forums is a general reflection of how much they give a sh1t. Some are just lazy, others just need more coaxing to spend the 3 seconds to signup for the forums.Whatever it takes, loot restrictions for not sigining up, incentives for doing so, whatever, we need to make sure as many if not all of our guildies are on the boards and participating in these discussions.

K's a HOMO............................................but does make very good points
I dont understand why we dont have more of the guild using these forums or even registered, i was looking at our roster today and we have around 60 members or so and only 9 registered here
I know Tom will reregister when he gets back form his holiday's

Rading Suggestions
Yeah I would have to agree with Tigger we should be using the forums alot more and if we aren't we should make it happen. Get our guildies to register so they can see whats going on and what needs to get done in our guild. krikor

My registry was removed the other day, perhaps people need to know they need to re-register. Is there a way to see on the roster how many true accounts we have, there are a few alts mixed in.

Tim - Can you provide a list of those whom hae registered?I will try and send out an in-game email this evening reminding folks to register.

I know that this is an old post, but I'm at work and bored stiff. On the subject of guild recruitment, I was the guildmaster of the Mutilators of Rhetoric which was a very small guild like General Goods. I found that when we spammed for recruits, we would get asswipes. the best recruits came from those people that we invited into a group and then did dungeons with. They got to see us first hand take care of problems efficiently and wanted to join the guild. What happened to my guild was that when we all hit 60, the majority of people left to join the "bigger guilds" on the pretense that they wanted to get geared up more quickly and not wait for the rest that were slower than they were. It is possible that FA could have that problem when we near 70th level. Some of the newer people in the guild, especially ones that don't raid often, might jump ship with the hope of easy quick gains with other bigger guilds. Therefore, my vote would be to not spam for recruits like apples lying on the orchard floor, but rather to grow them ourselves from the PUGs that raid with us and they see that we can raid efficiently. This also means that we need to listen to the raid leader well so we do the encounters well, but also I think that the raid leaders should not be embarrassed or frustrated by explaining encounters that some of us have done a number times to make sure we all do it right. We need to show off our prowess to the PUGs who are our best potential recruits. Robert

Excellent point! However, what happens when we fill up an entire instance with Guildees? There won't be any room for PUGs. I think that if, during our recruiting, we have a conversation with each potential guildee that shows interest, then we might be able to weed out the 12-year olds. An example: There was a person that was chatting with me yesterday regarding our guild. He had an interest but was busy spamming the trade channel with immature babble in response to the other 12 year olds. Anyway, had he shown a true interest in the guild and requested an invite, I would have had to pass on him.Anyway, I agree that we don't want to pick up immature players, but at the same time we need more players. Here is what I am thinking:Really screen potential candidates. Don't just send them an invite. Chat with them in-game and if possible, over vent. We could easily create a "recruiting" or "interview" channel within vent for this purpose.Check and re-check your friends lists. Let's see if we can convince others whom may be unhappy with their current guild to join our side
Either way, a guild invite does not automatically guarantee that they are in for life. If there is someone acting up, then let's bring it up with the Guild and have them removed (or at least placed on probabation first.)...just some more 2 copper... -Mahnalor

Excellent point Robert.
As you come across possible recruits, be very careful before inviting them. While we are an open guild, we are also a more mature guild.
Those that should be in "a different" guild:
- 12 year old loot mongers
- "Hempy" minded players
- ....any others?

Hempy, LOL! One more question... I made my old guild the Mutilators with my 18 year old son (see, I really am an Old Geezer). He doesn't want to leave the guild that we created as well as a couple of other die hards in there. But he is really interested in running with FA. He is a skilled 60 priest and works well with others and has a great sense of humor. What do we do with the people that are willing to be devoted to FA, but want to stay in their old guild? My son's toon is Xandor and you can ask Blastine and Garaz/Drumble and Dionia about him. I have spoken with my old guildies about moving their 60's to FA and they say no they won't move. However, they are good players and would benefit FA and would like to run with us! What does the guild think? Robert

I think we give these people priority and the first chance to fill in the blanks when we need pugs. It's usually better to bring in somebody you know and have a history with in real life than to just take the first random dude that responds.
Rading Suggestions
I think instead of just inviting them to the guild have them run a few times with us and throw the offer out if they are interested in joining our guild. If they are interested or have it in mind then by all means let them run, but for instance yesterday if we had Tig and Draven then it would have been a complete guild run, 2 short...I think that was the best we had and closest we had, good job guys keep it up. With the expansion pack coming up we should be getting some good exp from ZG next week if we run it and we know our way around there so should be fun, let's check it out and go from there.
Rading Suggestions
Last night we had 1 pug who was not in Vent. While this made it a little difficult, the guy never really screwed up. I think it was mainly because we were typing out some of the important instructions. Going forward, we should strongly encourage, if not require, all pugs to be in vent. Then I started thinking about how having someone type out the instructions (at least some main points) might be real useful so that people can just scroll up in the chat text to see something they may have missed or forgotten, especially Pugs, if they are nervous to ask questions. What do you guys think? I would be willing to do the typing for a bit, transcribing the main points of Tims instructions to see how well it works, or if its too confusing to see 2 sets of instructions at once.-Scott
Rading Suggestions
I'd rather we just all stuck to vent. I sometimes type only because I don't want to step on someone who's already speaking. But I don't think we need to worry about typing instructions. With the good showing last night, our days of picking up PUGs on ZG are hopefully coming to an end (at least on Wednesdays).

Good point. I hope we can get a few more people in the guild so come lvl 70 we can do the 25 man raids with all guildies too. I am so happy there wont be any more 40 man raids.... at last we can do all the end game content without resorting to extreme recruiting measures.
Rading Suggestions
Agreed. We should make it mandatory for those participating in our raid to have vent. We really need to stress this when picking up PUGS. We could have had a full all-guild run last night had folks just logged on briefly (or at least someone know) to indicate their status so we could reserve a spot if need be. Even an in-game email will suffice. Just an idea...
Rading Suggestions
Vent needs to be mandatory, yeah. And we also need to make our raiding plans clear to all of the 60s in the guild. Because although we had some that simply couldn't make it last night, it looked like there were people still just PvPing for a good portion of the evening. I hesitate to make the run mandatory, since that goes against the chill philosophy of our guild, but it'd be nice to be sure everyone knows when our raid is and that those in our guild and online are hopefully there for that reason - to help out.
