Draconis from approached me today asking if we'd be interested in pairing for Gruuls, even if only a temporary arrangement. I think it might be a great opportunity to at least get in there, and get some experience with the fights, before we get to the point that we plan a full guild run.
He said they'd have 10-15 available. Since our group 2 is in Kara that night, that maybe 10-15 of our group 1 players would join with the group.
I pointed him here, to the website, so we can try to coordinate. Let me know what everyone thinks. Like I said, I think it'd be a good chance learn the fights first hand. But if everyone would rather wait a few more weeks until we can make the full guild attempt, that'd be okay too.

I think it would be a great idea to get some experience in there. However, if it turns into something more than than temporary it might be a bit difficult to get group 2 through Kara without some occasional help from the experienced players. As it currently stands, we are a bit underpowered in group 2 and it would be nice to get the help from time to time. The original thought for the Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sun was to potentially have guildees available for the other raid nights with alts if need be. I do understand that we want to get to Gruuls , as I am itching to get there as well. I am not against our guild going as the experience benifits our guild as a whole... I just want to make sure that we are all on the same page when it comes to bringing up the newcomers.-Mahnalor

Hello, everyone. My guild has only about 17 active raiders currently. We're mostly irl friends and we're a pretty close-knit group, so we're really having a tough time recruiting because we're trying to maintain very high standards. Currently, we raid Karazhan with one group. It's gotten pretty quick. Our more experienced raiders sit out for the first half so that our newer players can gear up and the newer players sit out the second half. Some of our players have every item they could want from Kara. So, our problem is that we've got 10 people who are fully geared from Kara who are only getting to raid one night each week and because of our slow recruitment, we're not close to doing Gruul's alone. Thus, we're looking for another guild to group with and get some experience in 25man and also so our main raiders have something to do other than farm Kara. That will give us time to maybe do some more recruitment or find an alliance that works for everyone. If you guys get to the point where you're ready to start Gruul's as a guild, great. Maybe it will buy us enough time to recruit or find another group. But, it will surely keep us busy in the mean time. Just let me know if everyone thinks this would be a good idea. Thanks, -Draconis

Personally I think it's a terrific idea.We're in somewhat of a similar situation, no incentive to recruit randoms -- many of us are RL friends and have a history that goes further than this game. We're right at the point of trying to establish that solid second Karazhan team, we tried doing the "new raiders first half", "establish raiders second half" - but I think we had too many people and it led to some organizational headaches. However, I'm also sympathetic with Mahnalor's POV of us being supportive of the second team. I agree wholeheartedly, and I think it terrific to bolster the Thursday raid team with our alts, but only if there aren't enough mains to make a cohesive team. Sunday would be an ideal day then for both groups to pool their best resources and help. Perhaps that's a discussion best reserved for another thread on how to best create a solid consistant second group ...

We should decide if we want to do it this thursday or wait another week. I think eventually aiming for a night that Team Thursday is not raiding on would be good. We don't want to have a couple people on Team Thursday wanting to go to Gruul's instead of Kara and then leaving the kara raid with 8 or 9 people. It shouldn't have to be a choice.

We are still trying to get some of our own guildees to utilize our forums! Anyway, it's amazing how similar our guilds sound. I think it would be a fantastic idea to get together and attempt Gruuls. Do you have an idea about what would be the best times/days to raid from your guilds perspective? We can then put together a plan, taking into account both guild's schedules and come up with an ideal day/time (or days)Chuunks/Miramel - Thanks for your comments on the second group. I am sure that we can make something work out where we are still providing support for our second group and yet forging ahead with 25-man content -Mahnalor

Yes, I think that we need to seriously consider a joint venture here. Shall we have another guild meeting and discuss it? Not everyone looks at the forums and speaks their minds...
