Thursday 9/20 Raid Report

Post by Mahnalor »

***UPDATED - reflecting availability for this week***Greetings! On to another week of Kara!  Let's keep up the good work folks! We are going with a slightly different lineup this week going forward.  I have posted the anticipated lineup here based on in-game conversations with folks.  If you are on this list and CANNOT make it for either day, please try to find a replacement as soon as possible.  Let me know if you have problems finding a replacement and I will see what I can do to help.  In addition, if you are available and would like to be considered for an open spot, please post to this thread so I know your status.  There is the potential for different group makeups to be considered for different fights, so keep that in mind.Thursday Raid LineupWarrior - MahnalorWarrior - ThandrennMage - AnotherMage - BenvoloDruid - MyrdinnPriest - StarsaverPaladin - JazzmynnWarlock - HuckenphalerRogue - DrpHunter - NagashiSunday Raid LineupWarrior - MahnalorWarrior - ThandrennMage - AnotherMage - BenvoloPriest - FionaaPriest - StarsaverPaladin - JazzmynnWarlock - HuckenphalerRogue - DrpHunter - NagashiThe plan:Thursday - Attumen, Moroes, Opera, MaidenSunday - Curator, Chess, Shade of Aran, Ilhoof-Mahnalor

I can most likely make Sunday (not Thursday) if you need another healer.  I'm going to play around with this resto build this weekend: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ts0zZZxVIxcqbest.  I'll confirm and re-post.

That's correct.  Invites start at 7:30pm (server time) and the first pull is at 8:00pm.  If everyone is on at 7:30pm then we head right over there.

Hi Folks,Sorry about not posting this earlier... been a bit busy with RL stuff :)Anyway, we managed to clear the 4 encounters we aimed at.  Here is the recap and loot:Attumen - Pretty textbook these days.  No problem getting him down.Loot:Stalker's War Bands - NagashiGauntlets of Renewed Hope - DEMoroes - With a slightly different group makeup we had to try things a bit differently as we did not have the comfort of 2 shackles.  We failed the first time trying to keep 2 mobs cc'd and beat down Moroes.  When that didnt work too well, we opted for just keeping the one shackled and then taking down Moroes.  With the slightly different strategy the second time we were golden... cake... :)Loot:Signet of Unshakable Faith - MyrdinnCrimson Girdle of the Indomitable - ThandrennOpera - Big Bad Wolf - Now here is where our troubles really got us...  Failure to get away from the Wolf in a timely manner.  At times we would just stand there and take a beating other times we would run right at him when we were morphed.  The practice laps in the begining are for everyone's benefit folks.  I felt like folks thought it was "silly" or "beneath" them as not everyone participated.  There's a reason for it... it sort of "programs" in your mind how you will run around the room when turned into LLRH.  There are arguments that you cant predict where you are going to be when he morphs you as the fear will take you out of your position, but we still managed to either run right through him, thus taking additional dmg, or running in a direction that made it extremely easy for him to cut us off in a straight line.  Let's learn from this and make sure this fight isnt as difficult in the future...Loot:Big Bad Wolf's Head - JazzmynnEarthsoul Leggings - DEMaiden - Though the fight was pretty straight forward and we one-shotted her, we had trouble with extra aggro in the hallway.  "Stay to the right" in the hallway means just that   Bracers of Maliciousness - DEMitts of the Treemender - DELet's make sure to take down Shade and Ilhoof on Sunday!!! We CAN do it!Combat Logs - Here

I know we've probably all had enough "loot issues" -- but I'm seeing an odd trend. Why is a DPS warrior taking first grab at all tanking items?   Is this group gearing up Thandrenn to be MT? Are both of the warriors rolling on both the dps AND Tanking gear?  Amulec and I have had a good negotiation going, at this point both of us have pretty much everything we need.  I took first grab at tanking gear, he got first choice at dps gear.  I deferred the Shade tanking ring to him since he made the mistake of choosing the wrong ring from the front quest guy ... but there is a lot of dps plate gear in there ... it wasn't long before his tanking gear started to shine and I got the spare dps gear .. Honestly, you're going to need the most/best geared MT - super health/super armor/super avoidance if you're going to survive Prince/Nightbane ... this friendly loot roll seems greedy to me.  Maybe I'm just crazy ...

Yeah. You're crazy.

#1. I've just recently switched to DPS. As in the last week or so.
#2. Mahnalor already had the belt. You'd prefer it was sharded?
#3. In cases where a piece of gear is an upgrade for Mahnalor, he's welcome to speak up and I'd be happy to pass it. I've done this in the past when the Tanking neck dropped from Maiden.
#4. When DPS plate starts dropping for us, I'll be rolling. If Mahnalor wants it, he can speak up and we can discuss.

So yeah. You're crazy.

Hey -- I've been called worse. :)  I'm a raging bitchass forum ass to the max.  For what it's worth - I'm not meaning to call you out by any means, nor hijack this thread into something different.  I'm offering insight into what I think would help the group progress further faster ...My source for information is: http://www.wowjutsu.com/us/destromath/F ... karazhan#1: It was received when you were DPS#2: See above -- either it was received recently or never worn ... or ... #3: I'm pretty sure he's way too nice a fellow to say "let me have that"#4: uhh ok?Chuunks, Killer of Guildees - then sitter on facer and screenshotter

#1. Irrelevant. Mahnalor already had the belt in question.
#2. WoWjutsu does not update very frequently. I seldom logout with my Tank gear on. I have a specific Outfitter set with just Epics for that, but I don't always remember to turn it on before I logout. Rest assured, the belt is part of my Tanking gear.
#3. No, he wouldn't say let me have that. In my experience, he'd say "I could use that too" or "You won a few pieces last time". And if he doesn't, he should. He sees the loot before I do. He knows what he has. If he's not rolling on it, I can't force him.
#4. Face.

Nothing wrong with being crazy.

Regards,
Thandrenn, Killer of Stuff.

P.S. I hate Murlocs.
P.S.S. The only good Murloc is a dead Murloc.
