Thursday 10/4 Raid Report

Post by Kaittlynn »

There is a good chance that I will not be able to run Jazzmynn this Thursday.  It is my Daughters Birthday and she doesnt have school the next morning so I might be keeping her awake a little longer to Celebrate!  She is 6!  I will keep this updated if things change. ~~ Kaittlynn/Jazzmynn

Thursday 10/4 Raid Report

Post by Mahnalor »

Greetings! Thanks for the head's up Jazzmyn. Before we go into the roster for this week, I would like to mention that I will be stepping down as raid leader and MT on Thursday and Sunday.  I will be looking for someone else to be able to step up within the guild and help drive the progression of this raid group.  I have thought about this 9-ways to Sunday and feel that this is the best decision for me.  I just don't have the time to commit to raiding these two nights each and every week.  I realized that the game was vering off its path for me and losing it's "fun" aspect.  I really need to do something else right now.  Though I will be available for an occasional raid with either group, I will not be going every week to Kara.  Thanks for understanding folks.  This upcoming week, Thandrenn has agreed to assume the MT role as his gear has improved quite dramatically over the past few months.  I will spec and gear up in DPS to help out the group with tactics/ etc this Thurs and Sun.  There are quite a few folks whom know these encounters quite well and should be able to guide the group to a successful pwnage of the bosses.Well... on to another week of Kara! Here is what we have so far:Thursday Raid LineupWarrior - MahnalorWarrior - ThandrennMage - AnotherMage - BenvoloPriest - FionaaPriest - StarsaverHunter - NagashiRogue - DrpSunday Raid LineupWarrior - MahnalorWarrior - ThandrennMage - AnotherMage - BenvoloPriest - FionaaPriest - StarsaverPaladin - JazzmynnRogue - DrpHunter - NagashiThe plan:Thursday - Attumen, Moroes, Opera, MaidenSunday - Curator, Chess, Shade of Aran, Ilhoof-Mahnalor

LETS NOT IGNORE THE FIRST PART OF THE POST, PEOPLE.Mahnalor -- Main Tank -- Raid Leader -- is stepping out.Anyone recognize the amount of effort he's put in on trying to establish this raid group?Anyone wonder why?Anyone feel any pangs of loss (or guilt)?ANYONE WANT TO SPEAK ON THAT?I'm going to go type a novel about it in the officer forum I think -- but it sure seems like something a little more important to talk about than who's going to eat candy on Monday.MT is a position that can be filled -- RAID LEADER/CALLER is something much more important.

I remember back when we were stuck on Curator for a few weeks I wished I could of quit, I'm guessing being the leader he's feeling that pressure x 10   I don't know what to say to be honest, I know I wouldn't want the job of raid leader, or MT, being both .... ouch! But I would like to say thanks for stepping up and getting group 2 this far, I know I'm not a member of group 2, but I'm sure you'll be sorely missed :(

First of all I would like to thank Mahnalor for all the time and effort, in game and out, that he has put into raid group 2.  The MT is a high pressure spot indeed, and I think we can all understand why you want to take time off.  I think I can say that no one here is going to hold that against you.  I think this will also be a good opportunity for Thandrenn to get some MT time since he has been getting some pretty nice gear together for that.  However the Raid leader position... that will be a little bit harder to fill.To me, Mahnalor was the glue in grp 2.  He would keep us on track, make sure everyone knew what was going to happen, and all sorts of other important things.  He knew all the details of all the pulls... which mobs had "x" ability, and which mobs should go down first.  This made my job crazy easy.  Skull gets marked, Benvolo starts to nuke.  Whoever steps up to be Raid leader in group 2 is going to have to have the same knowledge and leadership that Mahnalor brought.  Big shoes to fill indeed.I also think that instead of leaving the weight of all this responsibility on the Raid Leader, we should have a few dedicated RA's too.  Drp has been filling some of this, with marking and whatnot.  I think if we spread some of the pressure of the RL out between 2 or so RA's it would make a more enjoyable experiance for those in the "high pressure" roles.  Anywho, just my 2cents.

Pangs of loss? Hell yeah. Though I'm a little bit excited (but much more nervous) about trying out MT, I'd be just dandy staying OT with Mahnalor MT. I understand his reasons though. I only hope I can do as good as he did MTing. Thanks Mahnalor. Hope your leave is temporary :D

Ouch! Mahnalor stepping down yikes, I agree with the above post he really did make it so that each encounter seemed like a nice lil recipe for destruction. His knowledge of each encounter definitely helped me be much more confident that we would survive and get through it. Last Sunday we tore through things pretty good too. Well I guess I'll just say , thank you Mahnalor for all the help and getting us thru Kara and as above being the glue that held things together.  Thandrenn, I think you'll do just fine as MT you've been side by side with Mahnalor through all of the encounters and I'm sure you'll be able to handle it just fine. So let's adapt to the change and keep chugging along! :)

Thanks for the kind words folks.  It is much appreciated.  I have no doubt that the second Kara group can and will continue on without me there each and every week.  I just needed a definitive way of breaking out of the grind as my playing time has left me with very little time to do anything else wow related.  It was pretty much all centered around Kara.  I felt like the game was now called "Kara" instead of World of Warcraft. Though this week is a little different and I have the luxury of playing a bit more, most weeks this is not the case.  I am not going anywhere though and will be with the group this week and still around for a PUG spot occasionally after that. All in all... thanks for understanding folks.-Mahnalor

Happy Birthday, Marina!

Raid Results:
Attumen the Huntsman down:
Whirlwind Bracers - Jazzmynn
Handwraps of Flowing Thought - Onestar

Maiden of Virtue down:
Bands of Indwelling - Sharded - Benvolo
Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden - Thandrenn

Three or four attempts at Moroes failed. Not sure what we did wrong there, but considering the core changes to the group this week, not bad.
