Raiding ZA on the PTR - Updated w/ Tue night plan

Post by Fargol »

Alright, it looks like ZA is a go for tuesday. Here's the plan:

Well meet up between 6:30-7pm server, right on the PTR PVP realm. We'll meet up near the ironforge bank - Fargol's PTR name is Fargold - whisper/find him, and we'll get our PTR guild going. Then at 7, we'll figure out the raid makeup.

If you haven't setup much on the PTR - MAKE SURE to redo your spec (you come on to the PTR with no talent points spent) and visit your trainer to make sure all spells are learned to max - it's easy to forget to relearn talented spells/abilities if you're used to having them all the time.

Obviously, have pots/food/elixirs/etc ready to go - if you don't, try to farm mats or buy them for the crazy PTR AH prices. (but then again, you can spend all your saved up gold like there's no tomorrow)

Lastly, as for raid makeup, I'd ideally like to take: 2 tanks, 3 healers, 2 repeatable humaniond CCers (sheep, huntertrap) and the best dps we can muster. The first fight is suppsed to be as hard as nightbane and prince in kara. so I'd like to stack the group as much as possible to make it a success.

Okay, see you all tuesday night!

I'm not sure how the updater for the Wowtest folder keeps it together, if it does incremental updates or whatnot -- but you might want to doublecheck / re-download the latest client to make sure there's not a version conflict as well.Current test version is 0.3.0.7441

I think we should embrace this as a definate "maybe".  Right now it's fairly unplayable for me ... obviously many mods are broken, but even going default -- I have enabled my additional action bars to mimic my GUI.  Every time I change stances, it removes everything from them. Severe gimpage.

I hope to be there with one character or the other, but at the moment Hardwig and Huck both disconnected when I took the IF portal from Shattrath and they both disconnect on login.  We'll see if that changes.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Yea, I had the exact same problem - I was hoping it was a "tuesday patch day" issue...

I also have this strange thing where I get what I can only assume are debug messages that scoll in an invisible box in the left middle of my screen.

Chuunks made a good point... This is only the test server, and only our first time on the PTR, obviously things might not go as smoothly as we want. But I still think it's worth a shot. See everyone then!

My disconnection issue cleared up with a bit of time and was most probably a maintenance day issue.I have not, however, seen anything like the scrolling debug messages you describe.  Once in a while, though, Blizzard's Feedback addon prompts WoW to create a pop-up message on my screen stating that my addons are creating a large number of errors and suggests I should disable it.  I haven't noticed any problem, though, and keep the addon running in order to submit feedback.
