Frost Resist Gear Set

John asked me to post this. Basically a list of further needed materials + armor pieces for my Frost resist set for Hydross.

Iceguard Breastplate (Blacksmithing - Pattern req Honored with Violet Eye)

-8 Khorium Bars
-12 Primal Fire
-12 Primal Water
-1 Primal Nether

Iceguard Leggings (Blacksmithing - Pattern req Revered with Violet Eye)

-8 Khorium Bars
-12 Primal Fire
-12 Primal Water
-1 Primal Nether

Pendant of Thawing (Jewelcrafting - Pattern req Revered with Lower City)
NOTE: Has 10 charges, 1 hour CD

-2 Felsteel Bars
-6 Primal Fire
-4 Primal Water
-1 Mercurial Adamantite

The Frozen Eye (Jewelcrafting - Pattern req Honored with Violet Eye)

-4 Mercurial Adamantite
-2 Khorium Bar
-6 Primal Water
-6 Primal Fire

Frost Armor Kit (Leatherworking - Pattern drops from Hydromancer Thespia in the Steamvault)
Need 4 kits (probably)

16 Heavy Knothide Leather (total)

I've got 7 Khorium bars in my bank and will keep a lookout for a good auction deal for the rest. I nabbed 20 ore for 25g the other night. I only have 1 primal fire and 2 primal waters atm though. I've also got the Felsteel bars. So mainly we'll need a crapton of Primal Fire and Water. I spied some already in the guild bank.

I'm guessing Chuunks can craft he chest and leggings since he made a Helm in the same set for me already. Maybe Dudepal or Quani can make the Neck & Ring? And I think Akuma has the pattern for the Frost Armor Kit.

I can craft them - and I have extra Primal Nether as well.Should probably run through the actual math first before we craft everything -- that 3-piece set takes you a lot of the way (and you'll have raid buffs).

With everything listed on the WoWWiki page (http://www.wowwiki.com/Hydross_the_Unst ... tance_Gear) including the Pally aura I'm coming up with 364 frost resist. The cap is claimed to be 365. I'm sure I'm missing something that the page doesn't have listed...

Such as the Flask, the Elixir, the Greater Resistance (+5) enchant for cloaks..

I dont think any of the player cast buffs stack, such as totem, aspect of the wild, pally aura, etc.

Nature Set update :::Keeping at 490 defense without wearing my necklace -- I've been able to put together 246 NR. Things I still need to do: Enchant Cloak +15 Resist (4 Living Essence, 2 small prismatic shards(have), 3 greater planar essence(have)) Enchant Wildguard Chest +150 health (mats (have)) Enchant Wildguard Legs -- Either Nethercleft Leg Armor or +8 NR patch (2xPrimal Shadow 2xKnothide Leather(have)) Craft Pendant of Withering (Scryer Exalted Jewelcrafter -- 6 Primal Shadow, 4 Primal Life(have), 2 Felsteel Bar(have), 1 Mercurial Adamantite) With the pendant -- that puts me at 276. With Hunter aura -- 346. If I get the leg NR Patch -- 354. I could swap out one gem for a Prismatic Sphere -- 358. Ummm .... *tears hair out*. Could replace enchant on boots with NR patch -- 366. My health is a little gimped maxing out NR -- should be just about 13k unbuffed when done. But probably a fair tradeoff.

I've dumped some Khorium Bars into the Bank, so there's now 11 bars + 4 ore (2 bars). Also 43 Primal Waters and 33 Primal Fire.

Chuunks, if you could grab some of that out and make either the breastplate or leggings, that'd be awesome. I'll put more stuff in as I get it.

Right now all that's complete is the helmet. I can get the Head and Shoulder enchants whenever. Though I'll probably skip the shoulder enchant. +7 Frost Resist vs. the +15 Dodge & +10 Defense... eh. I'm not too worried about the armor kits either.

I crafted the Frozen Eye and the Pendant of Thawing I also stuck a bunch of various ores in there for khorium / felsteel bars Chuunks, you'll have to find a scryer jewelcrafter for the Pendant of Withering Just want to say thanks to Athha for all of the Primals

I also have the Pendant. All I need now are the Breastplate and Leggings. And potentially an armor kit or two once I get a better idea of how the set is fitting together.

I'll craft those other two pieces as soon as I'm back on with Chuunks (so definately before raid time) -- if you wanted to do your calculations, just strip the armor from those spots -- all it has is resist/stamina/good armor.I'm still looking for "Pendant of Withering" if anyone knows an exalted Scryer JC -- I haven't started combing the major cities yet...

You can also check out wowdigger.com. It allows you to make character profiles and put different gear on them. It calculates everything you can find in your character pane in WoW and more (like spell haste doesn't show up anywhere on WoW, but does in wowdigger). You have to create an account, but its a painless process.

Bleh. So unbuffed I'm getting 203 Frost Resist. I'm unable to use my FrR Necklace and Ring without losing defense - which is presently at 490 (and I had to trade out a +4 Def/+6 STA gem on my gun for a +8 Def to get that). I can get another +70 from the Pally Aura, +25 from the druid buff and +35 from a flask of chromatic water, but I'm still coming up short about 32 resist of the cap. Short of re-gemming my regular tanking equipment (none of the FrR has sockets) for more +defense so I can put the FrR ring on, I'm not sure i can make up the shortfall at this time.
