Tuesday raid -- Al'ar learning experiences

Post by Drumble »

Great job last night!   For something that was tauted as one of the harder bosses in The Eye -- we certainly kicked the crap out of it.  3 learning experiences - a little adjustment, then WHAM = dead bird.  Tastes like chicken ... already cooked chicken. Al'ar:
[Talon of Al'ar] -- DE
[Mindstorm Wristbands] -- Kaittlynn
[Phoenix-Ring of Rebirth] -- Akumabarai Learning experiences (please add your own):
*  Tanks need to stay right at the edge of the platform for line-of-sight issues.

*  You can run up a little bit when he's doing his Fire Quill bombing - the general rule is right before the edging gets to be a consistant size.  I think I might have gotten him one time without the raid getting damage, but I'll have to pine over WWS to see.

*  The Melt Armor debuff lasts 60 seconds --which means he's going to fly up and dive bomb again before it wears off.  Whoever is OT should be prepared to re-taunt if the person melting gets that initial aggro.

*  The Fire Quill move looks very different from his move across the center -- he dips down really low when moving. Hydross the Unstable:
[Robe of Hateful Echoes] -- Blastine
[Fathomstone] -- Fargol
[Ring of Lethality] -- Akumabarai I had a positioning error in one of the nature phases -- I was thunderclapping to try and keep the adds centered, and in the battlespam didn't notice the "You must face your target" message.  Thankfully only a couple people dropped.  Other than that -- it seemed pretty textbook.   The Lurker Below:
[Mallet of the Tides] -- Killean
[Cord of Screaming Terrors] -- Miluda
[Boots of Effortless Striking] -- Myrdinn I saw someone learn the hard way that "jumping in the water" isn't as good as slipping quickly in. :D   Only got Fargol one time ... we'll have to work on that. NEXT WEEK:   bigger better things ...

Nice!  Wish I could have been there.  I would like to say that I can be there at the start next tuesday, but alas, I have another concert, so I won't be able to get on before 8pm server next tuesday either.

<=== Jumped into the water.  I might as well watch from above for this fight if I don't get a new pc.  Swimming in the water till the next spout comes because of fps issues seems to be a waste of healer mana.  Also, I've usually be able to time jumping out of the water just as the spout passes by, but last night I got hit by it 2x when I could actually see my screen moving, the rest of the times I was taking a hot bath for quite a bit.

I have a meeting tomorrow night so I won't be able to make it to any Thursday content this week.  Not that I could guarantee being home on time anyway, but just letting y'all know.

I just looked at the WWS for the lurker kill.  I took 66k damage, with prob 12-15k coming from the spouts and another 2k coming from the adds shooting me.  That means there's close to 50k damage of me watching time go by in the hot tub

i dont  think there is a lot  to say about the fight we did a good job  controling the adds and our tanks did a great job keeping up with the boss the  rest of the  fight just seems to be on the easier side as far as dps

I had a great time playing a frost mage... Wish I would have had a better chest piece but oh well.  I think we all did an excellent job.
