Leaving the raid - the right way

Post by Drumble »

We had some people leave the raid after a boss last night "thanks for the loot, gotta run" -- and we had some people leave the raid saying "Person X is coming in for me".  Please note I'm not trying to flame anyone for this, just come up with a better way to deal with things in the future. I would like to propose the "ideal" way for you to leave the raid, to minimize the downtime and frustrations of the 24 people still remaining: I'm going to assume you know a good 20 minutes or so before you need to go, send /tells to all the available online raiders in your class saying that there "might" be a spot for them in 20 minutes, and check if they will be available in 20 minutes.   *  This gives them plenty of time to finish their quest/BG, get their raid gear and prep  *  It allows everyone plenty of time to respond, they might be questing/BG/PvP/AFK  *  It allows you to present the raid leader options of who is available and who might fit the encounter best This being said, there are still going to be those emergency "My son fell out of bed", or in our resident EMT's case "I have to go NOW." situations -- but those should be the exceptions to the rule.  Consider the following example:
" I have to go.  Bye."
... vs ...
" I have to leave in 10 minutes, Killean/Quani/Darkehn all said they would be available to take my healing spot. "
