BLACK TEMPLE 11/4--PLEASE READ

Post by Kaittlynn »

Guys, we have been doing so awesome!  Next week (I think) the plan is Black Temple again.  With us having TK, SSC, and Hyjal completed, lets try to finish BT off before the expansion as well!!!  PLEASE read up on the last 2 fights that we havent finished yet.  Also if you never read up on the other fights, do that too (especially if you didnt get to go last week when we cleared through, but might this time).  We have been progressing through so well and pulling together as a real guild-- funny how that works when we show up prepared!  Anyways-- maybe someone can post a hyperlink if mine doesn't work because I am not sure how to do it.  At the VERY least please look up the fights for Illidari Council and Illidan Stormrage .  The website http://www.wowwiki.com/Black_Temple#Subzones_and_Bosses is a good start, but you can also look up the fights on youtube and watch an actual video of them.  Please keep in mind that there are several raiders now-- much more than the 25 for the raid, so if you do not know the fight, you could get replaced.  We post on our applications that they must know the fights AND be willing to sit out if asked.  This is something that really should be expected from all guild memebers-- not just new people coming in.  Lets finish this off before WotLK!!!!  We can do it!

Bear in mind that the nerf has given us more margin for error, but the boss fight mechanics still remain.  Slow reaction times, poor decision making, and improper positioning ultimately end up causing the raid to take unnecessary damage, the raid to have insufficient DPS (boss enrages or healers go OOM), or the boss to be uncontrolled (boss heals itself, buffs itself, or pulls off a devastating move).  With the nerf, we can tolerate more people dying and still keep up enough DPS to overcome the reduced boss health.  The tanks are also taking less damage, so healers aren't going OOM as quickly.  This will only carry us so far; we're eight bosses away from beating the Burning Crusade (Illidari Council, Illidan, Kalecgos, Brutallus, Felmyst, Eredar Twins, M'uru, and Kil'Jaeden) and the margin for error post-nerf is not very great for these last eight bosses. Please read up on the boss abilities and think through exactly what those abilities mean for yourself and your fellow raiders.  As we have seen in the past, the strategies on http://www.bosskillers.com/ and http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php are oftentimes incomplete.  The authors of those strategies gloss over fight nuances that they overlook out of habit.  Individual raiders need to have a solid understanding of the fight mechanics so that they can make corrections on the fly and help the raid leaders figure out what's going wrong when we wipe. -HP

Because the forums have been so dead lately I was going to drop the bomb knows as ***** ******. But I remember that this is a family atmosphere and there are some things that children should not know.

Quit reviving old posts, lets find something new and interesting to talk about.

How's Obama doing so far?

Does anyone else feel that 10 and 25man raids was just a Blizzard trick to get us to spend more on consumables?

Is anyone working on any home remodel projects they want to talk about?

Does anyone want to help me on mine?

How much wood would a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood?
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me.

Not sure, but my daughter made it a point to ask in Best Buy really loud "Hey Mom!  Did you vote for our President?"  Maybe someday she will learn what questions not to ask in public?

Hmm, I hadn't ever thought about that...makes sense though...What used to be making space for 2 days to raid has turned in to much, much more.  If it wasn't for slowing down to take care of school stuff then I would be raiding 5-6 days a week--pretty much the whole week.  More people playing=more people feeling tied to the game=less pepole cancelling their accounts.  They need to come up with something quick before people get tired of this content when they clear it all...Then everyone will be going to other guilds to help them clear it all...

Not really, but I think our second toilet has a leak.  I thought that the kids were just playing in the bathroom and kept dumping water, but I have been watching it and its wet by the base even when they haven't been in there.

Would love to help...I am sure that if I took Noah off of your hands you would have more time/energy to do it.

Some say it depends on three factors:1.  The woodchuck's desire to chuck said wood. 2. The woodchuck's need to chuck the aforementioned wood.  3.The woodchuck's ability to chuck the wood. Others say:  He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.  If he could chuck wood, the woodchuck would chuck as much as he could!   A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.   If a woodchuck could chuck wood, he would and should chuck wood. But if woodchucks can't chuck wood, they shouldn't and wouldn't chuck wood. Though were I a woodchuck, and I chucked wood, I would chuck wood with the best woodchucks that chucked wood.
