Phrikk won't be able to run on Sunday as I will be playing Jazzmynn that day... A Warlock would be way helpful with Shade and curse of doom is nice on Curator lol.

If it is okay with Thandrenn, can I OT again for the Curator fight? :)

Sunday is kinda iffy for Jazzmynn.  I know that John (Phrikk/Mahonri) plans to play the pally for me if I can't get off of work early on Sunday, but he hasn't really played a Pally before, so he will probably need some practice first.  Maybe before Sunday, he can heal some instances with her : -).

Blave - I think that worked out fine.  Having the HP's is crucial for that role and for the best interest of the group for that fight, we will execute the same way.  It made sense that our top 2 folks in the HP categoty tank for that fight. Nothing aainst Thandrenn and his ability to OT, but a pure numbers thing....Hi Kaittlynn... not a problem... I am sure John will do fine :)  Thanks for verifying that Jazzmyn will be there.. though it might be John playing her....

I might be able to go with Huckenpahler tonight since he didn't get to go with the Tuesday group.  But I'll be out of town on Sunday.

Hey guys, is there anyway we can fight this optional boss ...

Illhoof

He drops a staff that would help my DPS and a back that would help my tanking.

(Assuming you've read the guides - I'm not going to start from scratch.)  This fight is actually pretty easy once you get the method to the madness down.It all boils down to two macros:/target demonic/target terestThose demonic chains have to go down FAST, do not cast that one last spell on Illhoof, save your fireblast or whatever quick blast you have.  The person in the chains will need heals to live, and any heal gives Illhoof like 10x the heal health.  You are not going to be able to select the chains easily since there will be 1-20 imps around them.  Additionally, you need the /target terest to get back to Illhoof instead of imps.  Even the tank -- even the OT should be DPSing chains down when they spawn.Warlock spams Seed of Corruption on Illhoof which should handle the imps.  (Warlock w/ lots of FR a plus)  A mage or another AOE should run in when needed if they get out of control (usually after a sacrifice since people aren't DPSing Illhoof to set it off).Typically it's chains--illhoof--chains--illhoof , but it's the OT's job to call out when it's a good time to DPS Kil'rek after a sacrifice.  You should do it  this way to take optimal advantage of his weakened state, since you'd have to go full DPS on the chains if he sacrificed again, wasting the weakened state. The OT has one other macro:/target Kil'rek.. obviouslyto pick him up when he respawns. Here's the clincher -- at some point you're going to have to make the decision whether or not you want to let the people in the chains get sacrificed.  If you lose a couple DPS, those chains are going to take a LONG time to get down and Illhoof will heal a lot.  If you lose a couple high DPS, you might want to let the last couple people just die in the chains with no heals. The key (from my understanding) for healers -- is to get that quick PW.Shield and start healing the person in chains. The key for tanks -- is pop your 'bag of tricks' when someone is sacrificed, since you wont be getting the priority heals then. The key for DPS -- fast dps on chainsThe key for Imp. Controller -- getting a PW: Shield, maybe concentration aura to keep those Seeds coming, call forhelp if you need it and have imp backup if you're the one sacrificed.Gonna be gone Sunday -- I'd say go for this as an attempt at least, it's only one extra pull if you go through there.

Hi Folks,Great job all!  Thursday saw us down 2 bosses and the Opera event.  Though we had difficulties with some dc's, Thandrenn being pulled off for a RL issue, and Drp having to drop due to persistent internet issues we managed to get all three done.  I do want to make a note though that our goal each week is to have the first pull at 8pm. we have all been pretty flexible in this regards and we seem to get going around 8:30 or so... but what this really means is that we will not be able to get in as much content as we would like.  If we start the first pull at 8:00pm then we are done with Attumen before 8:30pm and are already starting to clear our way towards Moroes. So remember... invites start at 7:30pm and we start entertaining the idea of looking for relacements at 7:50pm.  I do understand that things come up, but let's communicate with someone in the guild or post on the website if there is a possibility of being late. This will allow us to save your spot and not fill it will folks that are trying to get in some face time with Karazhan So here is the low-down on our encounters:Attumen and Midnight - Pretty much a cakewalk these days, we have this guy on farm status.  With another one-shot victory over Attumen were on a good pace to do well for the evening. Everything was going our way so far...Loot:Stalker's War Bands - ShardWorgen Claw Necklace - BlaveMoroes - Here is where we had a couple of changes in group dynamics. Drp had come in and out with inconsistent connectivity and Thandrenn had to attend to RL issues.  So with Blave as OT we proceeded... The first two attempts we experienced unlucky early shackle breaks and a third mob went nuts on our healers.  Drp had to bow out for our third try as he couldnt maintain a consistent internet connection.   Nagashi was available to help us out and provided additional cc on the third mob with a frost trap. We managed to get him down with only 3 alive at the end Loot:Crimson Girdle of the Indomitable - MahnalorBrooch of Unquenachable Fury - KurumiWizard of Oz - Probably the more difficult of the opera events, we one-shotted this event without much trouble.  Our "text-book" strategy worked well for this group's first time at this event.  Way to go!!!Loot:Blue Diamond Witchwand - XandorGreat Eternium Helm - MahnalorHere is the link for Thursday's stats:http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=zg ... 1o4gSunday we go after Curator, Chess and possibly Ilhoof and/or Shade of Aran.  Group makeup, preparedness and timing will be the deciding factor for additional encounters after Curator (required) and Chess (free loot ).  Please read up on the guides for all of the events we are thinking of doing on Sunday...Blave, thanks for the post of the link and thanks for the input on the Ilhoof fight Chuunks. I will be sure to commit the guide and tactics to memory -Mahnalor

Curator kicked our asses! What is that we weren't doing that we should have been? One thing is I definately think we were to close together as the astrals would come pound on 3 of us or more at a time. Mahnalor and Chuunks have both touched on being prepared, I still think we're lacking in that area. Maybe we need to have a day or so of prep prior to Kara to assess everything, gear, pots, tactics, etc... Every clothie doesn't need to go out and switch to tailoring just for one of the tailored sets but if someone's gear is lacking then i'd be willing to help in anyway possible to help better the equipment. I'd rather wipe 30 times in Shadowlabs or a heroic than in Kara where most the group puts alot of time an effort in. Blave did an awesome job of dropping DPS to heal and pulled us through the Maiden fight but as we get further into Kara we're going to need the healers alive longer through the fights so he can do his job. Should we run other things during the week to get the D3 sets or higher Stam gear? Plus my priest has most of the +healing enchants and i'd be more than willing to help farm mats for ANYONE who needs, just lemme know. Anyhow just some input from my pov. And please read up on the encounters...   Paul.

Damn!I hate coming back to be stumped on bosses beaten the prior week.  Anyone have details?  I spaced out that it was a 3 day weekend, and we just came back today (Monday) ...If people were eating those astal flare chains, one thing that would help to disperse some of that damage is to have people organize where they're going to stand in a half circle.  At this point, there should only be melee dps and one (possibly 2) ranged getting damaged. This is, and bears repeating, a "balls out dps" fight.  You should never be holding back - pot up, make all your mana gems, a lay waste to the flares as soon as they spawn (/target astral).

Also I feel that I should point out that while Curator is a barrier to the rest of the instance, it is by no means a measure of how you might do in the remainder.  Each boss has it's own strategy and a raid group working well together could easily chew up a lot of bosses after him ...Unfortunately, Curator is "somewhat" of a gear check .. but really it's about pouring it on as hard as you can.  (from the DPS standpoint, have no idea about heals honestly.)

Thanks for your input Paul and Chuunks!Yeah... Curator didn't take kindly to us touching the paintings...  One thing for sure is that we just did not have the dps needed to take down the astral flares quickly enough.  Bunching up was one way to help get DRP on the flares as soon as possible.  He accounted for more than 25% of the total raid dps and having him chase everywhere for the flares was not helping the cause. Though we also tried several other tactics, this one seemed to work a bit better.   Since we were getting hit with the flares anyway, it was ok for us to be a bit close as they only chain up to 3 members.So... after a few wipes, a discussion on tactics, and a vote we went on to Maiden.  We had a bit of trouble at first as we didnt have enough healing so Blave had to swap out roles and heal instead of DPS.  This proved to be our winning ticket as we were able to take her down fairly easily with Blave as a dedicated healer.Loot:Bands of Indwelling - FionnaGloves of Centering - JazzmynAfter Maiden was down, we decided to head on over to try one of the Beast bosses in the Servants Quarters.  We had issues with respawns coming up after the 30-minute timer and were finally able to draw out the boss.  Apparently, according to wowwiki, this was supposed to happen this way.. clear all mobs... clear a few respawns.. then the boss appears which we have to clear some more to get to him.  Fun in the sense as none of us knew what to expect.. not fun in the sense that we now understand why folks do not do this part on a regular basis So we drew out Rokad the Ravager, defeated him and looted...Ravager's Cuffs with +56 fire damage. Not really worth the trade off for our local fire mage, Another.. so off to the DE block it went....Here is the link for the stats from Sunday's run:http://www.lossendil.com/wws/?report=o3izrdmqzsjawLook out for a thread for next week posted shortly... I feel that we had a few rough encounters but still had fun this week.  I will post more information on the upcoming week with suggestions on how we can do things better....  until then..-Mahnalor

My personal advice on the flares... Backstab backstab backstab.  Say what you will about rogues, but they do the most quick burst damage when specced for daggers.  These things only have about 3 backstabs worth of health, so it is really important to get in at least 1 or 2.  Energy should be full since you are running back from the last one, so you should be ready for a nice fat backstab as soon as you get to the next one.  Its really easy to fall behind when all the casters are still casting spells at 1 of them then switch over and have to wait for a full cast again.  If you ever have 2 flares up for more than a split second, something needs to be adjusted. One more thing, if you were not using dampen magic, then you need to try it.  I will not do that fight without it on the rogues at least, and anyone else taking damage from the flares should consider it as well.  Prayer of Mending works wonders on the melee too.  I had to bust out a flask of arcane fortification when we first dropped him.
